about
The devil’s own is a catchy and upbeat indie/pop number with abstract beats and uplifting melodies which balance out the pensive and somber lyrics.
lyrics
It's the same old news, they're fresh from out the gutter.
They'd rub salt in your wounds, anything to make you bitter.
Once more I'm through with heavy eyes and flashing blue.
Straight to the cell, only to get out in the morning.
Fresh to run and start this chapter again.
A place called home will soon be burnt to the ground.
They've got reasons to go, they're the devil's own.
They live like the cancer destroying your bones.
Picking numbers to fight, wasted, guided by night.
Demons be gone. Oh be gone now.
Scrapping in turns and riling the onlookers.
Gladly earning themselves another hit to the nose.
Shameless, bleeding, yearning that familiar feeling.
They've got reasons to go, they're the devil's own.
They live like the cancer destroying your bones.
Picking numbers to fight, wasted, guided by night,
They're calling, they're calling, we're going under.
They've got reasons to go, they're the devil's own
A nocturnal lifestyle will turn you to stone.
Lost in vagueness by day with hopes of lasting for life,
demons be gone.
Boulders smash through the walls,
a thunder first hand from Thor.
Uncovering my head from deep under the feathers
I stare through the glass as posessions are sold
we've worked for, all of our lives.
A flame to the cloth takes more than is owned.
A change for the better as the heat gets hold.
It's growing, it's growing, they've got what's been coming.
They'd be better off inside.
